Baptism

Baptism

At NBSC we do not baptize babies or young children. We believe that baptism is a personal declaration of your new life as a follower of Jesus Christ. Baptism is not a magical or mystical event that washes away your sins; Jesus freely gives you forgiveness for them. We believe you should be baptized if you are a new believer or have rededicated your life to Jesus after living apart from God for an extended period of time, or were baptized as a baby and now want to follow Jesus' example of public confession of your faith as an adult. What are you waiting for TAKE THE PLUNGE!

Join us as we celebrate the changed lives here at NBSC! If you'd like to be baptized, simply register below. Understand that before we baptize people we feel it is our job to give a mandatory introductory class that helps you in the following:

- Why should I be baptized?
- What is the meaning of baptism?
- Why Be baptized by immersion?
- Who should be baptized?
- When should I be baptized?
- What to wear, how to be prepared that day, and where to meet that day.
- How to prepare your testimony which Pastor Ron Bailey will read for you.

This class is simply our aiding you in fully understanding what baptism is and why we do it. We ask you to give us a brief testimony of how you came to know Jesus Christ as your Personal Savior. These testimonies will be put onto a pamphlet so that others can read them and celebrate with you! (Don’t Worry) You won’t have to say anything, Pastor Ron Bailey reads for you what you write.
Children under 18 years of age who are interested in being baptized, must attend our Baptism Classes as well.

If your child is in 5th grade or under contact our Children’s ministry director Jennifer Leonardo.

If your child is in 6th-12th grade contact Pastor Ron Bailey

We encourage you to treat this like a graduation or other milestone in your life. Invite family and friends to come to the service and support you. As well have a celebration lunch after with your family and friends. This is meant to be a great witness and celebration. You never know what God might do through your baptism!
